Project A - Urban Network
Technical
The project involves an interaction with the users through an active exchange - ideal and practical - of city driving that begins with the recall from the railway station and the office of tourism to a small map of the city contained in a vending machine. On one side of the map will be marked in a way dear to the artist who wants to share with the users. On the other side will be shown the map of the city without default paths, on which the user can draw a path or signal entirely free of a city that has particularly affected. Will then be asked to return at the point of collection your own map.
will happen in this way an exchange of tracks, a self-giving experiences, walkways or city views.
from vending machines (similar to those for sweets) will be available the maps contained in plastic balls with the addition of a small pencil to chart their own path. Each artist indicates a specific place in Bologna, in fact, the distributors will present four different versions of tracks. The maps will be submitted by the visitor in a totally random.
points or paths that we reported on the spot will be marked by interventions aimed at highlighting the location without changing its identity. Do not pretend to impose his own personality to the place but rather to add something unusual to draw attention to a particular part of the city (For example, spotlights and stage lights to a certain view, add to the tolling of a clock Galiero every hour on the bridge near the Clocks "dumb" to the station, flavored with a strong smell of bread or a way to install sound of car horns in the parks or in areas with limited traffic).
The artist does not claim to monopolize user's visit to the city, much less invasive way to intervene in the territory, but simply to give an unusual and poetic moment.
paths that users will want to tell us how to "own" will be picked up again near the center where you can pick up maps and will become part of a sort of virtual archive of possible mental maps city.
